When asked "Do you share intimate details of your sex life with friends?" 30% of the female respondents admitted they did, while only 18% of the males polled said they shared intimate information with others.
"Emotional intimacy tends to rank high among women - making it more natural for them to share information on sexual escapades than for men," explains Dr. Kat Van Kirk, resident sexpert for AdamAndEve.com. "But sharing information can be helpful… We all want to bounce questions off our friends to feel 'normal'. Just make sure to share mutually appropriate information that is comfortable for both of you to divulge."
"Adam & Eve carries of variety of products, including sexual education materials, to fit anyone's comfort level," adds AdamAndEve.com Director of Marketing Chad Davis. "We encourage every adult to educate themselves for a happier, more fulfilling sex life."
The web-based survey, conducted by an independent third party survey company, of over 1,000 American adults age 18 and up, was sponsored by Adam & Eve to study sexual preferences and practices. "Sex Chat with Dr. Kat" and "Daily Sex Tips from Hawaii" can be found on podcasts through iTunes or www.drkat.com.
