HILLSBOROUGH, N.C., Feb. 5, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- AdamAndEve.com (http://www.adamandeve.com/news), America's most trusted source for adult products, isn't afraid to ask the hard questions in its "Great American Sex Survey." This month, they asked adults if they ever use sex as a bargaining tool, and the truth came out!

When over 1,000 American adults were asked if they have ever used sex as a bargaining tool (example: I'll agree to have sex if you mow the lawn/take me on vacation/etc.), nearly 25% of the women said they have. Only 15% of the men admitted they have participated in sexual bargaining.
"I would speculate that more women than men engage in this behavior simply because it often takes women longer to 'warm up' for sex," says Dr. Kat Van Kirk, resident sexpert for AdamAndEve.com. "The idea that they can get their partners to gladly take out the trash or walk the dog is appealing."
"If the bargaining is done in a playful way, it can be a fun part of a healthy sexual relationship," continues Dr. Kat. "It's when it becomes a means to an end that partners feel taken advantage of."
"Adam & Eve encourages adults to explore all the aspects of positive sexuality within their own comfort zones," says AdamAndEve.com Director of Marketing Chad Davis. "We believe sexual education leads to a happier, more fulfilling sex life."
The web-based survey, conducted by an independent third party survey company, of over 1,000 American adults age 18 and up, was sponsored by Adam & Eve to study sexual preferences and practices. "Sex Chat with Dr. Kat" and "Daily Sex Tips from Hawaii" can be found on podcasts through iTunes or www.drkat.com.
