LAKE GEORGE, N.Y., May 13, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Tour de Lacs, an annual five-day international competition will be the United States version of the world's top professional cycling competition, "Tour de France". Like the 1980 Olympics held in Lake Placid, "Tour de Lacs" is scheduled to start at The Olympic Center in Lake Placid and challenge world class cyclists on the scenic 3000 mile race course competing throughout the Adirondack Mountains. This competition includes international celebrity pro-riders with the race winner taking the purse at the Lake Placid Olympic Center. "Tour de Lacs" includes plans for international television coverage including real-time Internet streaming via the Adirondack Broadcasting Network powered by Google. The international cycling event audience demographics, metrics and reach is an estimated 150,000 fans attending this event and an estimated 106 million who will watch the world class race on network television. USA Cycling is the official sanctioning body to govern the rules and regulations of "Tour de Lacs". A second press conference will be held at the Daily Planet in Lagrange New York on May 26th, 2015 at 10:00 AM.
The purpose of "Tour de Lacs" is to put New York's Adirondack Mountains on Center Stage internationally by bringing an "environmental friendly" world-class pro cycling event as big as The Olympics and position it in the USA's strongest market, New York State. The five-day annual event will consistently drive tourism into the Adirondack Region, create new jobs and stimulate economic development in Upstate New York. Unlike the Olympics, "Tour de Lacs" is scheduled as an annual event putting New York State and the Adirondack Park in the global spotlight.
The event promoter and cradle to grave business developers are the Adirondack Trail Media Group, Resolutionary New York and BGSM. The initial promotional engines to kickstart "Tour de Lacs" are Adirondack Trail Bookazine, Adirondack Trail Magazine, the Adirondack Trail Forty Sixer Book Series and the Adirondack Broadcasting Network. Adirondack Trail Publications are distributed nationwide via Ingram and Amazon and available in over 38,000 retail outlets. In addition to Adirondack Trail Publications, social media including Facebook will function as an important piece of the marketing puzzle to start up New York.
