ADLINK Announces Product Migration Services Program

SAN JOSE, Calif., April 27 /PRNewswire/ -- ADLINK Technology, Inc., a leading provider of embedded platforms, boards, and services, announced the launch of a Product Migration Services Program to assist companies in streamlining migration from products affected by Intel's recent Product Change Notifications, announcing the discontinuance of key embedded processors and chipsets and certain PCI Ethernet controllers.

These discontinuance announcements mark the end of components that have already been in production for 5 to 7 years, as committed to by Intel and as part of their embedded product roadmap. All board-level and system-level products based on these Intel components will eventually need to be similarly discontinued.

ADLINK's Product Migration Services Program is a multifaceted approach for addressing migration issues that companies, whose product designs are based on these soon-to-be discontinued Intel components, will face in the near future. Key elements of the program include:

Immediate Solutions and Short-term Solutions:

• Board-level Drop-in Replacements. ADLINK has already developed and continues to develop several board-level products in a variety of popular form factors as direct drop-in replacements that offer better performance with lower power requirements.
• Extending Product Lifecycle. ADLINK will extend the life of key products to ensure that companies will have sufficient stock to complete production of their product. ADLINK will offer a "last time buy" of all affected ADLINK products to help companies plan for the transition to new products.

Long-term Solutions:

• Customer Application System Architecture Review. ADLINK will review the system architecture and provide recommendations for possible upgrade paths.
• Gap Analysis. ADLINK will review architectures and provide a detailed gap analysis as part of a comprehensive migration plan. Upgrade products will be recommended based on application design and requirements, and deviations will be meticulously noted.
• Customization. ADLINK can provide customization services to carrier boards, BIOSes, I/O panels, backplanes, and standard product designs based on customer requirements.
