Admission Open House at High School in Houston's Museum District
HOUSTON, Dec. 5, 2012 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- The Post Oak School will hold an Admission Open House at its High School on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m., with one more planned on Tuesday, January 15, 2013. Whether interested for admission next fall or already looking ahead to 2014, the open house provides a chance for prospective students and their parents to see this innovative learning environment designed to develop leadership and entrepreneurial skills, while cultivating student interest. Also find out more about the International Baccalaureate (IB) Program, described as "a rigorous, off-the-shelf curriculum recognized by universities around the world" in a Time magazine feature on education.
This new division of the 50-year-old Post Oak School opened in 2012 in a newly remodeled building in Houston's Museum District with a freshman class and plans to add a grade each year until complete in 2015. Incoming freshmen and sophomores will have the opportunity to shape the emerging culture and traditions of the new school, bringing their ideas and inspiration and leading the way for future scholars and entrepreneurs. Enthusiastic students with a strong sense of self-direction are encouraged to apply for one of the remaining openings.
At Post Oak High School, students take academics beyond the classroom and apply their learning in the real world through connections with partner institutions such as the Houston Museum of Natural Science, The Houston Zoo, and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. The Post Oak School follows Montessori educational principles, which, according to an article in The Wall Street Journal, "……might be the surest route to joining the creative elite." Attend the Admission Open House to find out more.
