NEW YORK, July 26, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The Adrenalina Skateboard Marathon is hosting the first stop of its 2011 World Tour in New York on July 30, 2011. The innovative extreme sports company will host their 26.2 mile-long race on Governor's Island where some of the world's top longboarders will be competing for $30,000 in prize money.
The event has already received a tremendous response from the action sports community, helping the Adrenalina Skateboard Marathon reach a record number of participants.
Ilia Lekach, chairman of Adrenalina, is thrilled with the support generated thus far, stating, "The Adrenalina Skateboard Marathon's mission is ultimately to promote a better life and a better planet; longboarding is healthy and eco-friendly. We feel this is definitely the start of something good. Furthermore, after this year's run, which will take the marathon to Puerto Rico, Texas, and Florida, we intend to bring the marathon to Brazil, Japan, and Russia, as well."
Adrenalina also teamed up with Scion for the Adrenalina Skateboard Marathon Art Contest to create a Scion/Adrenalina co-branded skateboard that will be manufactured and sold through Adrenalina's stores and retail partners worldwide.
