Advance ER Celebrates Fall with Annual Staff Pumpkin Decorating Contest, Invites Community to Vote

DALLAS, Sept. 30, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Advance ER, a physician-owned, freestanding emergency room serving the Dallas-Fort Worth community, is celebrating fall with its annual Staff Pumpkin Decorating Contest. Patients, families, and neighbors are invited to stop by and vote for their favorite pumpkin during the contest's public voting period.

On September 16, undecorated pumpkins went on display in the lobbies of Advance ER's Park Cities and Preston Hollow/Galleria locations, kicking off a 14-day period where Advance ER staff transformed them into spooktacular creations ahead of the community voting period.

Vote for Your Favorite: October 5–11

Starting Monday, October 5, community members are invited to visit either lobby to view the decorated pumpkins and fill out a ballot for their favorite. Voting ends on Sunday, October 11. If you're looking for a fun way to kick off the Halloween season with your family, this is it! Kids can enjoy candy and small gifts during voting week, and adults will receive a complimentary first-aid kit for the car (limit one per family).

The first five children at each location who come in to vote will receive a free squishy toy (limit one per family).

Winners will be announced on Advance ER's social media channels on October 15.

• Team Collaboration Award
• Patient Favorite
• Most Creative Name

After the contest, the decorated pumpkins will be donated to local elementary schools and libraries, spreading a little "pumpkin spice" throughout the community. Advance ER is grateful to its staff for the creativity and spirit they bring to this tradition every year.

Advance ER Supports Community Partners of Dallas

In addition to the pumpkin decorating contest, the team at Advance ER is once again partnering with Community Partners of Dallas (CPD) for the NorthPark Pumpkin Patch and Change is Good initiative, running October 1 through November 1 at NorthPark Center. Make sure not to miss the carnival on October 4th; admission is free to the public, with lots of rides and family fun (tickets available now).

This event is just one part of Advance ER's year-round commitment to supporting CPD: each month, Advance ER donates comfort items, including backpacks filled with glow-in-the-dark blankets and pillows to bring warmth, security, and comfort to children who have experienced abuse, neglect, or trauma.
