Advanced Power Appoints Peter Podurgiel President

One of the Nation's Leading Thermal Power Developers to Expand Advanced Power's Team as ArcLight Platform Accelerates Delivery of Critical Power Infrastructure to Power AI

BOSTON, Sept. 23, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- ArcLight Capital Partners (with its affiliates, "ArcLight"), a leading power and energy infrastructure investor and Advanced Power ("AP") today announced the appointment of Peter Podurgiel as President and Board Director of Advanced Power and ArcLight Senior Advisor. Advanced Power, an ArcLight portfolio company, is one of the largest power infrastructure solutions platforms in North America with a development pipeline of over 15 GW to build utility scale power infrastructure for utilities, hyperscalers, data center developers and the power grid.

Mr. Podurgiel, was formerly President of Competitive Power Ventures ("CPV"), and brings to Advanced Power more than 25 years of experience developing, originating, permitting, financing and commercializing large-scale power generation. At Advanced Power, he will lead the company's day-to-day activities including development, commercial, engineering and construction, and asset management activities, working alongside Chief Executive Officer Tom Spang.

The combination pairs Advanced Power's proven development team – which has successfully developed power infrastructure for over two decades and is advancing a pipeline of more than 15 GW of new projects – with ArcLight's 25-year track record as an owner, operator and developer of power, transmission and midstream infrastructure and its dedicated in-house technical, commercial and operating specialists. Mr. Podurgiel joined CPV shortly after its founding and spent more than 25 years helping build the company. As President of CPV Low Carbon Generation, he led the development, construction and commercialization of new gas-fired generation across the U.S. and Canada, and over his tenure commercialized and transacted more than 11 GW of power projects. He previously served as CPV's Executive Vice President of Project Development and was one of the primary architects of the company's asset management strategy and business development. Earlier in his career, Mr. Podurgiel helped develop more than 2 GW of power projects at US Generating Company, and commercial real estate at New England Development and The Pyramid Companies.
