Advanstar Announces Executive Changes for Fashion and Customer Development

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 14, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Advanstar one of the world's largest producers of trade shows and events, is on the verge of expanding its deep-rooted relationships in fashion, licensing and motor sports through a series of restructuring in the Fashion and Retail Groups.

Tom Florio has been named the new CEO of Advanstar Fashion Group. In this role, he will lead the company's fashion initiatives including MAGIC and PROJECT. Celebrating its 78th year, Advanstar's MAGIC has become the most recognized and essential event for the fashion business.  

Florio, former Conde Nast executive and Vogue Publishing Director is credited with moving Vogue beyond its pages with digital platforms like ShopVogue.com and Vogue.TV.

"The anatomy of the fashion business is changing from supply chain to mobile commerce. Our goal is to expand our platform in these areas and provide a marketplace where all businesses that touch fashion connect," said Joe Loggia, Advanstar CEO.

In other developments, Loggia added that Chris DeMoulin has taken on added responsibilities as Executive Vice President of Customer Development and President of Licensing. In this new role, Chris will lead the efforts to connect Advanstar's customers to their global licensing platforms.
