Advanstar Appoints Thomas W. Ehardt as Executive Vice President, Chief Administrative and Chief Financial Officer
Ehardt to assume responsibility for all financial services at Advanstar
LOS ANGELES, Sept. 27, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Advanstar has announced that as part of its ongoing strategic initiative to consolidate and strengthen financial operations, Thomas W. Ehardt, current executive vice president and chief administrative officer, has been named to the additional position of Chief Financial Officer.
In addition to his current administrative responsibilities, which include facilities management and real estate, IT, human resources, legal, audience development and media operations, Ehardt will assume responsibility for all financial services. He will lead the company's efforts to continue to upgrade Advanstar's financial and operating systems, and the ongoing improvement of the quality of the accounting processes. Adele Hartwick, vice president, treasurer and corporate controller, will report to Ehardt.
Ehardt previously served as chief executive officer for Advogent Group within the Platinum Equity Group. In his role at Advogent Group he oversaw four business units that developed, provided and delivered full lifecycle solutions for publication planning services, healthcare communications and event management and logistics. He led the restructuring and reengineering efforts within the company post-acquisition, and successfully developed strategies for long-term growth.
Before joining Advogent Group in 2007, Ehardt held the position of CEO at Jobson Publishing Group and served as EVP and chief financial officer at Thomson Healthcare. Ehardt holds a bachelor's degree of business administration in accounting at Pace University, and a master's degree of business administration in finance from Long Island University, graduating Valedictorian.
