Adventure Center Expands Adventure Product Range

NEW YORK, Feb. 17, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Adventure Center is pleased to announce that it has significantly expanded its range of adventure product, thanks to an agreement entered into by TUI Travel PLC and Intrepid Travel.

The proposed strategic venture will combine Intrepid Travel with TUI Travel's international portfolio of adventure brands to create PEAK Adventure Group. As part of TUI Travel, Adventure Center is included in the new venture and will become one of the brands operating under PEAK Adventures.

The strategic venture will provide Adventure Center with access to Intrepid Travel's global range of small group adventures that includes more than 1000 itineraries to over 100 countries on all seven continents.  This significantly enhances Adventure Center's existing offering of 2000 trips in 130 countries.

PEAK Adventures will consist of over 20 businesses that will continue to operate as separate brands.  PEAK Adventures will take 340,000 passengers each year. Brands included in the venture are Adventure Center, The Adventure Company, Adventure Tours Australia, Country Walkers, Exodus, Gecko's, Guerba, Headwater, Imaginative Traveller, Intrepid Suntrek, Intrepid Travel, Oz Experience, Peregrine, Pinnacle Tours, Sawadee, TrekAmerica and WesternXposure.

The new strategic venture will have no impact on the travel plans of Adventure Center's or Intrepid Travel's existing clients with all departures going ahead.
