Aegis Media to Lead Discussion on 'Building Brands and Business in a Convergent World' at Advertising Week 2011
Aegis Media Executives Will Be Joined by MIT Media Lab's Linder to Explore Possibilities and Implications of New Consumer Experiences
NEW YORK, Sept. 29, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Leveraging its thought leadership on the topic of convergent media, Aegis Media North America today announced the agency will host a special session entitled, "How to Build Brands and Business in a Convergent World" during the upcoming annual Advertising Week gathering in New York. The event will take place on Thursday, October 6 from 4-4:45 p.m. at BB Kings, 237 W. 42nd Street in New York.
CEO of Aegis Media Americas, Nigel Morris, will be joined by executives from other Aegis brand companies, including Doug Ray, President, Carat USA, and Matthew Hook and Francesca Ronfini, Partners, Jumptank, to discuss the new marketing opportunities created for brands and businesses by today's convergent media world. Joining the Aegis speakers will be Natan Linder of the Fluid Interfaces group at the MIT Media Lab. Linder's work fuses design and engineering to create novel human experiences.
The group will discuss a framework for creating value and success in the convergent world, featuring research demonstrations from the MIT Media Lab. The session is designed to offer practical advice and ideas on how to prosper in the convergent world now, and over the next two to three years.
"Convergence is driven by a number of fascinating, yet complex factors," said Morris. "These include the relevancy of content and shifts in how content is consumed not just by individuals but by communities, the explosion in social and mobile technology, and the changing dynamics of commerce: what consumers buy and how they buy it. Aegis Media is delighted to host what I believe will be a thought-provoking presentation that offers some very practical insights for marketers looking to better understand and capitalize on the convergent landscape."
A cocktail reception will immediately follow the session. Interested attendees can RSVP by emailing [email protected]. Those already registered for Advertising Week can reserve a spot by visiting http://www.advertisingweek.com/eventDetails.php?id=146&mode=public#.
