AERC Recycling Solutions Donates Computer Workstations to Assist Victims of Domestic Abuse in Somerset County
HILLSBOROUGH, N.J., Feb. 12 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ --In support of the Resource Center of Somerset, AERC.com, Inc. (AERC Recycling Solutions) has made a donation of refurbished electronics to the local non-profit organization. Four fully functioning nearly new computer workstations have been provided to the Resource Center. By making these workstations available to victims of domestic violence, women will have the technological tools to apply for jobs, conduct research on the Internet and practice their computer skills, which essentially help them in finding work and starting a new life.
"AERC believes in the message and goals of the Resource Center of Somerset to eliminate physical and emotional abuse. By providing tools, such as computers, for these victims AERC hopes to help them conquer their obstacles and lead productive and fulfilling lives. It is our hope that this donation will help play a small part to end the cycle of abuse as well as provide a constructive gift for the community. Any money saved by the Resource Center provides for expanded resources that can be spent on client needs and services," said Lindsay Landmesser, Vice President of Sales at AERC.
Paloma Amar-Coleman, Executive Director of the Resource Center of Somerset is grateful for the donation of computers. "We thank AERC Recycling Solutions for its recognition of our needs and our efforts to dedicate our resources to client services over office equipment. We appreciate AERC's ability to respond so quickly and considerately. We appreciate the generosity of the community for in-kind donations such as this to help us with the business end of helping people who face such harsh times. When we can cover our administrative costs through donations like this, we can provide so much more to our clients in the way of services," said Ms. Amar-Coleman. "We would like to extend a special thank you to Peter Jegou, CEO of AERC who also serves as President of the Board of Trustees at the Resource Center, for facilitating this donation."
The staff at the Resource Center will certainly put the computers to good use. Many of the existing computers are old and in need of upgrades or replacement. Ms. Amar-Coleman adds, "The Resource Center is always ready to accept donations that help us to help our clients."
