- New IT System to Manage Cloud Infrastructure and Applications - As per the release, Freeport-McMoRan's new IT system is a powerful cloud solution is designed to bring new capabilities, economics and innovation to large enterprises. The cloud solution, developed under the collaborative efforts of Accenture, Avanade and Microsoft, incorporates hybrid technologies and services to help build and manage enterprise-wide cloud infrastructure and applications. The report mentioned that the solution would help Freeport-McMoRan to migrate and manage applications between private and public cloud environments in a controlled, seamless and automated way.

- Benefits of Azure-Based Platform - As per the release, the transition to the Azure-based platform will help Freeport-McMoRan to increase its operational efficiency, decrease its costs by centralizing the management of workers, automation of routine tasks, and enablement of shared services. The transition is also expected to help the Company minimize future costly data center migration activity, as workloads can be proactively moved to their most cost-effective platforms.
