AgriFlyNetwork Launches Location-Based Social Search App For Crop Growers And Dusters
Aerial application expert reinvents the industry by creating an "Uber for farmers"
NAPERVILLE, Ill., April 10, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The United States Department of Agriculture projects that the farming industry will be worth $93.5 billion in 2017. Being an economic cornerstone in American society, innovation is always a welcome prospect in the field. AgriFlyNetwork is one such innovator that is revolutionizing networking in the industry by integrating agriculture into the mobile application space. The launch of the AgriFlyNetwork app means that agricultural growers, retailers, and crop experts can now connect with aerial application operators ("crop dusters") quicker than ever.
"In my career, I saw that there was a need for operators to reach employers more efficiently," says Jeff Wagenknecht, Founder of AgriFlyNetwork, Inc. and industry veteran in aerial application. "Operators in the field tend to keep within their circle, and that can limit opportunities for work. AgriFly streamlines the process by allowing operators to grow their base by working outside of their usual radius, and by allowing growers to find reputable, qualified operators right in their backyard that they might not have found otherwise."
The AgriFly mobile app is an easy-to-use platform, similar to the pin-on-map format of the nation's most popular ride-sharing apps. Growers and retailers can simply submit an assignment detailing their acreage, that's then dropped onto a map. Operators can browse through open positions and share their in-app profiles to those of their interest. From there, the growers can select their preferred operator for the job. Features like detailed profile and job history screens make it an all-encompassing database fit for serious agricultural professionals.
The potential is boundless, as growers now have exponentially increased access to operators across the country at a lowered input cost. AgriFly opens the door for competition within a relatively territorial sector of the industry, and better facilitates opportunities for long-term partnerships.
For the app's charter year, growers and retailers can earn 15 cents per acre by using AgriFly. For a one-year subscription fee of $5500, operators pay 40 cents per acre acquired through AgriFly, with guaranteed end-of-year reimbursement of the subscription fee if less than 3,000 acres are acquired. For signing up in the charter year, operators will save $3000.
