AI Announces New Agreement as TeleEpoch's Sales and Supply Chain Fulfillment Partner in North America and the Caribbean
LAS VEGAS, March 24 /PRNewswire/ -- 2010 International CTIA WIRELESS® Show -- Advanced Innovations (AI), a world leader in the creation and orchestration of global supply chain networks that design, build and deliver electronic products for its customers, today announced that it has entered into a new relationship with TeleEpoch, a mobile solution provider of CDMA, GSM, 3G, GPS and Mobile TV handsets, data devices and PDAs. Under the terms of the new deal, AI will be TeleEpoch's sales and supply chain fulfillment partner in North America and the Caribbean. Additionally, AI will work in cooperation with TeleEpoch to direct their joint product roadmap.
This new partnership is a strategic expansion of the already strong relationship between Advanced Innovations and TeleEpoch. That relationship was central to the signing of a new $10m contract between it and Open Mobile, a Puerto Rico-based wireless service provider on March 16 at a ceremony hosted by the Prime Minister of Ireland, Brian Cowen. Under the terms of the deal, AI will design and supply a range of customized, low-cost cellular devices tailored to support Open Mobile's business in Puerto Rico. The initial agreement between the two companies covers the first three devices on Open Mobile's product road map, with the expectation that the partnership will expand to include future products. The deal is valued initially at $10 million for AI.
"Our new agreement with TeleEpoch highlights our commitment to offer an effective way for smaller cellular operators to focus even more on building their subscriber bases and providing innovative services to their customers while we concentrate on designing, building and delivering the hardware they need for their customers," said AI's CEO, Robert O'Donnell. "We are a company that provides the infrastructure and expertise that allows manufacturers to focus on developing intellectual property and other core activities like strategic market development."
AI will manage all sales in North America and the Caribbean arising out of leads generated by either company. Additionally, AI will deal directly with the prospects and customers to determine their electronic hardware (handsets, modems, PDAs, etc) needs. From this, AI will convert the information into technical specifications and will project manage the ensuing design work. Once the product has been designed and verified, AI will work with TeleEpoch to have it certified in its end markets. TeleEpoch will manufacture the product and AI's logistics will manage the delivery and will administer the warranty in the end markets.
"AI's innovative outsourced managed services model provides us with solution that enables us to move product concepts through development and certification, and into production with speed, efficiency, and compelling cost advantages," said Dr. Chuan Wang, chairman of TeleEpoch. "We look forward to this new relationship, as it allows us to concentrate on what we do best – manufacturing CDMA handsets that deliver advanced capabilities to consumers in the market for affordable wireless communication services."
AI will be on-site exhibiting at CTIA with TeleEpoch at Qualcomm's stand 2439.
