The Indoor Air conference series began in 1978 to promote indoor air quality science and is the official conference of the International Society of Indoor Air Quality and Climate (ISIAQ). ISIAQ's major role is to facilitate international and interdisciplinary communication and information exchange by publishing and fostering publication on indoor air quality and climate. "We look forward to sponsorship with Indoor Air and are always thrilled to work together with ISIAQ in developing conference events and presentations focused on the major themes that we both carry throughout our corporate and organization missions," says Tony Worthan, president of AQS.
In 1992, following the 5th International Conference on Indoor Air Quality and Climate (Indoor Air 1990), a group of international scientists and practitioners founded ISIAQ as the premier organization to establish scientific principles for indoor air quality and health. It has since grown to become an independent, multidisciplinary, non-profit organization that, according to its website, "develops, adapts and maintains guidelines for the improvement of indoor air quality and climate." Dr. Marilyn Black, CEO of AQS, was a founding team member. Worthan explains, "AQS strives to continue the innovative and progressive work of ISIAQ, Dr. Black and its founding members, by upholding our expertise as leaders in indoor air quality, chemical emissions from indoor products, mold and chemical exposures in buildings, and building construction techniques for moisture management and 'green' design."
The conference program committee is currently soliciting abstracts for paper or poster presentations for Indoor Air 2011. For more information on Indoor Air 2011, visit www.indoorair2011.org.
