Air Transat Equips Engineering with Pacelab Cabin
Canadian airline purchases configuration software to support cabin upgrade investigations for its fleet of Airbus aircraft
SEATTLE and BERLIN, Feb. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Canada's leading holiday travel airline Air Transat has purchased Pacelab Cabin to support cabin upgrade investigations for their fleet of Airbus A310 and A330 aircraft. In addition, the cabin configuration tool by Berlin-based software provider PACE will be used to analyze future seating scenarios in the context of aircraft purchasing decisions.
Pacelab Cabin automates the modeling and positioning of cabin interior items such as seats and galleys and continuously verifies the layout's compliance with operational and certification requirements. For the engineering team at Air Transat's Technical Operations department, the introduction of the software has drastically reduced the time required to create optimized and validated cabin arrangements while minimizing the level of discrepancies during the actual cabin re-configuration.
"Pacelab Cabin was recommended to us as the cabin configuration software of choice, and we are indeed very pleased with the speed and accuracy of the results," explains Mike Malka, P.Eng, Director Engineering, Technical Operations at Air Transat. "Thanks to the great support we received from PACE during the implementation phase, we went productive in a surprisingly short time."
