Akamai Aura Network Solutions Take Center Stage at CDN World Summit

Although large network service providers have been in the video distribution business for many years, the changing nature of IP video has created both new challenges and opportunities. High-quality, long-form video is no longer bound to linear broadcast channels, or to limited on-demand video libraries. Consumers are accessing unprecedented amounts of video content from multiple online sources through a variety of devices – all at the user's convenience. To address this new reality, operators are exploring a variety of methods to bring CDN services into their networks.

On Wednesday, October 3 at 10:10 a.m. GMT, Akamai Vice President and General Manager, Carrier Products Mick Scully will deliver a keynote session titled "Establishing Successful Business Models for Telco CDNs." Scully will address the benefits of a hybrid CDN approach for volume-based and value-based services; the impact of CDN pricing on market opportunity; reducing delivery costs through better traffic offload and control; offering video services to multiple screens over multiple networks; and options for extending enterprise cloud services via CDNs.
