Akamai Technologies Appoints David Rich To Drive Growth Across Asia Pacific

SINGAPORE, March 29, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Akamai Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: AKAM), the leading provider of cloud optimisation services, has appointed David Rich as Vice President, Asia Pacific to lead its rapidly expanding regional team covering Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, Singapore, and Taiwan.

David Rich has over 30 years of experience in the high-tech and telecom sector, previously holding senior management roles at Verizon Business, Global One and Cable & Wireless, where he gained an in-depth knowledge of the business and regulatory landscape across Asia Pacific.

Based out of Akamai's regional headquarters in Singapore, David Rich will be responsible for driving the company's growth throughout the region, helping businesses to securely power rich media, enterprise applications and cloud services online.

Akamai works with some of the best-known brands worldwide who use the Internet for business, including one-third of Global 500^® companies, the top 20 global eCommerce sites, nine out of ten top global banks, and the top 30 media and entertainment companies.  Customers in Asia include Cathay Pacific, Standard Chartered, Air Asia and Rediff.
