
Alan Khazei and Rob Gordon Join Be the Change, Inc. as CEO and President
Founding leadership returns to expand Be the Change's work and continue momentum
BOSTON, May 29, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Be the Change, Inc. announced today that its founder, Alan Khazei, and founding board member, Rob Gordon, are returning as CEO and President respectively, effective immediately.

Be the Change, Inc. was founded by Mr. Khazei in 2007. The innovative platform creates national issue-based campaigns through a unique model focused on facilitating collaboration to inspire change and shift public perceptions and actions around society's most significant social issues.

Prior to founding Be the Change, Inc. Khazei co-founded City Year, an education-focused national service program that unites young adults from all backgrounds for an intensive year of full-time community service mentoring, tutoring, and educating children. Khazei has served on the boards of leading national nonprofits and has received numerous awards, including the Reebok Human Rights Award.
A West Point graduate, Robert Gordon III, Colonel (ret.) has a distinguished national service career, most recently serving as Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Military Community and Family Policy where he was responsible for defense-wide policy, program execution and oversight of more than $20 billion of the Defense Department's worldwide community and family programs. Other experience includes serving as Aide-de-Camp to General Colin Powell; White House Fellow; Director of American Politics at West Point; and the Senior Vice President at City Year. Gordon is the recipient of several awards and decorations including the Secretary of Defense Medal for Outstanding Public Service.
