Alcantara At Shanghai And NY Shows

MILAN, May 14, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Alcantara, the global luxury lifestyle brand, was featured on a number of vehicles shown for the first time at this year's Shanghai and New York auto shows. 

Buick, for example, unveiled its 2020 Regal for the Chinese market with seating covered in caramel-brown Alcantara with an embedded dot pattern at the Shanghai show.

Infiniti premiered its latest electric concept vehicle, the QS Inspiration, in Shanghai as well. The vehicle's door-panel surroundings and rear shelf were dressed in black laser-cut Alcantara. Black Alcantara material also was chosen for the QS Inspiration's headliner. 

In New York, Nissan debuted its 50^th Anniversary Nissan GTR 50. Nissan selected red perforated Alcantara material to enhance the grip of its race-ready seating. The GTR's steering wheel was covered in gray Alcantara, as well as its dashboard and headliner.

Alfa Romeo showed its new limited-production 2019 Giulia Quadrifoglio NRING Edition sedan and Stelvio Quadrifoglio NRING Edition SUV in New York as well. A total of only 110 of the two high-performance vehicles will be built. In addition to their signature exterior features, the interiors of both vehicles use Alcantara on their carbon-fiber steering wheels. Their seating also features Alcantara material.

Alcantara's "Made in Italy" material is 100-percent carbon neutral.

Additional vehicles at the Shanghai Auto Show which were dressed with Alcantara trimmings included Roewe's eRX5, Ei6 and Marvel X models, Porsche's 718, BMW M2-M5 and X7, Audi  A8-A6-Q3, Q7, Q8, -R8, S4, S5 and RS5 and e-tron, and Volkswagen Golf-Sagitar, T-Roc, Teramont X, Tayron R-Line, as well as many others.
