During the show's Car Design Night at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing the company also hosted "The World of Alcantara," an exclusive display highlighting, step by step, the values that define its lifestyle brand.
The Alcantara display at the Central Academy of Fine Arts was designed in Alcantara® using an array of its materials to wrap six "rainbow" staircases to express basic concepts that are the keys to the Italian company's global success.
More than 30 models unveiled with interior materials from Alcantara at this year's Beijing show included the Buick Verano, Verano GS, Regan GS and Encore, and Maserati's Levante, Granturismo MC Stradale and Ghibli. Tesla Model X and Model S, the Infiniti QX Sport and Volkswagen's CC 25X, Sportsvan, Tiguan Sport R-Line and Tiguan all featured Alcantara enhancements. Other vehicles at the Beijing Auto Show equipped in Alcantara trim include Porsche and its Cayenne GTS, Cayenne S e-hybrid and Panamera as well as BMW M135i and M4 GTS and the Audi R8, R6, R7 and Q7.
This was the second time Alcantara has hosted an event during the Beijing Motor Show, underlining its special relationship with the global automotive industry.

Pointing to the brand's success, Boragno noted that a recent evaluation by international marketing consultant Interbrand showed that the value of the Alcantara brand had increased 15 times to 100 million euros since 2006. During that time, Alcantara has expanded its international markets in Europe and beyond. Sales in 2014 reached 123.8 million euros, roughly double the 2009 figure, and operating income tripled. In 2015 turnover registered a 33.5 percent growth, exceeding 165 million euros, while the EBITDA is 49.6 million euros. Exports to markets outside of Italy now make up 90 percent of the company's sales.
