RESTON, Va., Jan. 23, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Clinical Care Options (CCO), the leading provider of clinical educational content and technological learning and information platforms, is proud to announce that President and Chief Operating Officer Marissa Seligman, PharmD, FACEHP, CCMEP, has been asked to present the 2015 Frances Maitland Memorial Lecture at the Annual Meeting of the Alliance for Continuing Education in the Health Professions (ACEhp). Dr. Seligman delivered the lecture at a formal awards ceremony held last night during the organization's annual conference at the Gaylord Texan Conference Center in Grapevine, Texas. The presentation, which chronicled Dr. Seligman's experiences and insights on what it means to be a mentor of mentors and a mentee of mentors—a "MOM"—will be published as an article in the April issue of the ALMANAC, the official newsletter of the ACEhp.
Each year, ACEhp recognizes organizations and members for their contributions to the field of continuing education (CE) for professionals in healthcare education and selects one member to deliver the Francis Maitland Memorial Lecture. The lecture is awarded to a member who has made significant contributions to the field of CE, particularly through the role of mentoring. The following day, Dr. Seligman was recognized for her Frances Maitland Memorial Lecture at the ACEhp 2015 Awards ceremony.
"The Alliance established this lecture in 2000 with the express purpose of conveying the value and importance of having and eventually becoming a mentor to newcomers in our profession," said ACEhp Interim Executive Director and CEO Mike Saxton, MEd, FACEHP, CCMEP. "We are so pleased that Marissa has been chosen for your excellence as a mentor to many of us in the CEhp community."
"Marissa brings unparalleled experience in continuing medical education (CME) to her role at CCO," said Jeffrey Drezner, MD, PhD, Managing Director, CCO. "But it is her commitment to sharing that knowledge and perspective that makes her a leader and mentor both within the company and throughout the CME field. We are thrilled that her efforts and accomplishments have been recognized by ACEhp."
