Allot's Service Gateway Sigma Solution Accelerates to 360 Gbps Throughput
Tolly certifies SG-Sigma's superior throughput, traffic steering and accuracy for operators worldwide
BOSTON, Jan. 25 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Allot Communications Ltd. (Nasdaq: ALLT), a leader in IP service optimization and revenue generation solutions based on Dynamic Actionable Recognition Technology (DART), announced today a new software version for the Allot Service Gateway Sigma (SG-Sigma). This enhanced SG-Sigma, which incorporates an advanced technology software toolkit, has vastly increased its core competencies to offer mobile, fixed and converged network service providers a more robust and resilient platform with superior performance, steering and traffic capabilities. The enhanced SG-Sigma will be exhibited during Mobile World Congress in Barcelona from 15-18 February, hall 2, booth B76.
Tests conducted in December 2009 by the Tolly Group, the industry's premier independent testing and strategic consulting organization, prove that a single fully loaded SG-Sigma can deliver throughput of over 75 Gbps with less than 16 microsecond latency. According to Allot, performance can scale up to 360 Gbps with a clustered configuration of SG-Sigma platforms.
In addition, tests proved:
- SG-Sigma's ability to identify 100% of asymmetric traffic across a clustered configuration which is essential for supporting today's complex operator environments
- SG-Sigma's ability to steer traffic at over 40 Gbps to both internal and external services with zero packet loss
- SG-Sigma's carrier class capabilities demonstrating full N+1 resilience guaranteeing uninterrupted operation in cases of hardware failure
"Tolly tests show that the Allot Service Gateway Sigma is a resilient, scalable platform that combines high performance, low latency and a scalable core Deep Packet Inspection engine, with advanced traffic handling capabilities like Layer 7 traffic steering and accurate asymmetric traffic detection across clustered platforms," stated Kevin Tolly, Founder of The Tolly Group.
"We believe that these improved competencies position the Allot Service Gateway Sigma as the most advanced platform available today in terms of throughput, accuracy and traffic steering capabilities," explained Andrei Elefant, Allot's VP of Product Management and Marketing. "In addition to the wide range of revenue generating network and subscriber services such as WebSafe, MediaSwift and ServiceProtector, these capabilities reinforce the SG-Sigma as today's operator platform of choice."
