Aloha Writers Conference on Maui Will Feature Best-Selling Authors and Keynote Speakers
HONOLULU, Aug. 7, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The 2013 Aloha Writers Conference will be held at The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua on the island of Maui. From January 18-21, 2013, award-winning authors, top agents and editors will be speaking at the conference, including Kaui Hart Hemmings whose novel, The Descendants, was made into the highly acclaimed film starring George Clooney.
The conference, taking place during one of the island's most exciting times – whale season, will also feature Jacquelyn Mitchard, author of The Deep End of the Ocean, Thomas Cook, winner of the Edgar Allan Poe Award, John Lescroart, best-selling suspense author, and Diane Lake whose screenplay Frieda won two Academy Awards. Established in 1996, KOKA works to serve the needs of the Native Hawaiian community through cultural educational programs for adults, children and families.
