Alpha School Accelerates Expansion with Acquisition of Key Assets from Higher Ground Education

First New K-8 Campus to Open in San Francisco This Fall

AUSTIN, Texas, July 14, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Alpha School, the innovative K-12 education model combining adaptive AI learning with real-world skills development, today announce a major expansion milestone: the agreement to acquire key assets from Higher Ground Education, the former parent company of Guidepost Montessori—once the world's largest network of Montessori schools.

Once finalized, this agreement will include proprietary elementary educational materials and rights to select high-value campuses from closed Guidepost schools across the country. With this move, Alpha is set to fast-track the opening of ten new K-8 campuses by December 2025, significantly accelerating its growth timeline by nearly two years while preserving the integrity and excellence of its education model.

First New Campus: San Francisco, CA

Alpha's first new campus under the expansion will open in August 2025 in downtown San Francisco, in the former Guidepost Montessori Fort Mason facility at 3741 Buchanan St, San Francisco, CA 94123.
