Al's Angels Announces "Angels for Oklahoma" Fundraiser
Organization aims to secure funds and teddy bears for children that have been impacted by the devastating tornado in Moore, OK
WESTPORT, Conn. and NEW YORK, May 31, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Al's Angels, a non-profit charitable organization founded by Westport, CT resident and CEO of Optimus Publishing Al DiGuido, announced today that the organization is launching a major effort to help children and families impacted by the devastating tornado in Moore, OK.
The mission of Al's Angels has always been to provide holiday meals and gifts to children and families battling cancer, rare blood diseases and severe financial hardship. In 2012 having witnessed the devastating impact of Hurricane Sandy on thousands of children within the tri-state area, the organization launched an effort to provide children with holiday toys and gifts. Thanks to the generosity of so many around the United States and Canada, Al's Angels delivered over 5,000 toys to children in need.
Once again, Al's Angels is launching an effort to provide support and hope to children and families impacted by the tornado in Moore, OK. Those wanting to contribute to the Al's Angels "Angels for Oklahoma fundraiser have a number of ways to contribute to this worthy cause. Al's Angels will accept new teddy bears at the organization's main office at 342 Greens Farms Road, Westport, CT 06880 throughout the month of June.
For any person that would rather make a financial contribution towards to help us "Stuff a bear" with Love for a needy child in Moore OK; A donation of $25 per bear can be made thru the Al's Angels website (www.alsangels.org) . Simply click on the "Donate" button and find the Angels for Oklahoma Bears option in the drop down menu and follow the instructions to make your donation. 100 percent of the dollars donated will be used to purchase and stuff bears for these children who have lost everything from this storm. Donors can also make general financial contributions to support our efforts to provide aid to the families in Moore OK in the same manner and select the Angels for Oklahoma option. Al's Angels is in the midst of its 2013 Fundraising & Holiday Outreach efforts, as the organization hopes to provide more than 3,000 families in the tri state area with Thanksgiving, Hanukah & Christmas meals. Santa and Frosty will visit over 12 different venues in the region and distribute nearly 5,000 gifts to children and families battling cancer, rare blood diseases and severe financial hardship.
The Angels continue to work very closely with a quality network of partners on many of their initiatives, including Tomorrow's Childrens Fund, St. Barnabas Hospital, Union Community Health Center, CLASP Homes, Mercy Learning Center, Columbia Presbyterian, Saint Christopher Ottille, Stony Brook Medical Center, North Shore Long Island Jewish Hospital and others.
