The 2014 list is compiled based on data of revenue growth from 2010 to 2013. To be included in the list, the companies had to have been established and operating by March 31, 2010, and had to remain U.S.-based, privately held, for profit and independent through December 31, 2013. They also needed to have acquired a minimum revenue of $100,000 in 2010 and $2 million in 2013.
