Alternatives Executive Vincent J. Calcagno, CEO to Join Agile Hedge Solutions, LLC
SAN FRANCISCO, June 16, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Agile Hedge Solutions LLC (Agile), an outsourcing CFO/COO specialist in the alternative investment industry, is bringing on industry veteran, Vincent J. Calcagno, as the firm looks to position itself for continued expansion. Vince, who brings over 20 years of experience in the hedge fund, venture capital and private equity industries, will take over as Agile's CEO. Vince most recently served as KPMG's Alternative Investment Market Leader for Los Angeles.
Agile's Founder Nick Castoria will continue as the firm's COO and CFO. "I'm thrilled and humbled to see Vin join the team. He has both built and transformed offices while at Rothstein Kass - helping grow its Walnut Creek and San Francisco offices to over 80 people, and then building their office in Los Angeles to 145 people, right before its sale to KPMG." Agile has seen high double-digit growth in revenue, headcount and average client size year-over-year from its start in 2010. Agile's adherence to owning all facets of a fund's business is a primary driver of its success. "We operate Agile like a $4billion dollar multi-strategy fund complex and we are setting our sights on doubling the AUM on our platform over the next 18 to 24 months," says Castoria. "Not many people realize that Nick and I worked closely together 12 years ago at Rothstein Kass. I feel blessed to be able to partner up with him again after each of us has an additional decade of operating in the alternatives space," says Calcagno.
With the executive addition and other key member hires in the pipeline, Agile is uniquely positioned to serve the venture, private equity, and hedge fund manager communities. Agile's principals and team members have a depth of financial, operational, compliance, management and tax experience from both sides of the public and private fence that is unparalleled with three quarters of the team being CPAs in addition to its principals and many team members having buy-side experience. "Although Agile has been in business for over five years, culturally it's still very much akin to a startup," says Calcagno, adding, "I've always leaned towards and thrived in entrepreneurial settings. What excites me about Agile? Two things more than anything else - finding great talent that will thrive alongside us and having the ability to help clients in ways not previously possible such as raising capital and building out their infrastructure alongside ours."
