Altitude Work Wins GOOD DESIGN™ Award

BOSTON, Feb. 12, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Orthodontic experiences are a little less unpleasant, thanks in part to The Lythos™ Digital Impression System, which recently earned a 2013 GOOD DESIGN™ Award. Innovation and design consultancy Altitude worked with Ormco, a leading manufacturer and provider of advanced orthodontic technology and services, to harness the potential of 3-D digital modeling and user-centered design to bring a breakthrough system to market.

The Lythos System avoids the process of making physical molds and impressions of teeth – a practice that's uncomfortable for the patient and time-consuming for the orthodontist. Instead, the compact and ergonomic system captures a digital orthodontic scan that allows orthodontists to prescribe and adjust braces more effectively.
