Alyssa's Place: Peer Recovery Center Deploys Q2i's CASA Technology to Improve After-Treatment Care of Substance Use Disorder Patients

BOSTON, March 22, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Q2i, a provider of technology that improves patient care by enabling better connection and information exchange between patients and their healthcare teams, today announced that their CASA (Continuing Alumni Support Application) system is proving effective at supporting people in recovery from Substance Use Disorder (SUD) who are seeking help at Gardner, MA-based Alyssa's Place: Peer Recovery Center.

Alyssa's Place's model of peer recovery fills the large gap that exists between active substance use and clinical treatment. Often, SUD patients in this gap feel overwhelmed and isolated, whether because their connection with their recovery team has weakened, or because they have lost access to a peer group of sober friends. This unmooring from their support system can make the patient more vulnerable to relapse.

The CASA healthcare team portal and patient mobile app mitigates this problem in four ways: 1) CASA makes it easy for recovery teams to stay in contact with people in recovery; 2) CASA lets recovery teams receive valuable post-treatment feedback; 3) CASA allows people in recovery to easily connect with and gain support from a network of sober peers; and 4) CASA enables recovery teams to manage and distribute motivational or educational material directly to the patient's mobile app.
