"Amachi Pittsburgh is thrilled to participate in 'The No More! Project' and provide Amachi youth with the chance to share in this artistic opportunity," said Anna E. Hollis, executive director of Amachi Pittsburgh. "There is consistently positive feedback from the children who participate as well as their parents, who express gratitude for improving their relationship through open communication."
"The No More! Project" is a production created and directed by nA' Stubbs, the founder and artistic director of uNiqu' Performing Arts as a creative outlet for teenagers trying to cope with the stress associated with parental incarceration. Beyond the Amachi Pittsburgh mentees who are participating in the performance, the entire Amachi Pittsburgh family will have the opportunity to attend a free showing of "The No More! Project" followed by a reception after the show.
"The show not only provides an opportunity for young adults to reveal the issues they face, but it also encourages dialogue between parents and their children about these specific issues," Stubbs said. "By openly discussing these subjects, adults can then provide support and seek outside resources so that teens can cope appropriately and effectively."
