Amalfi Semiconductor Appoints New Vice President of Worldwide Sales

LOS GATOS, Calif., July 20, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Amalfi Semiconductor, an emerging leader in advanced power amplifier solutions for cellular handsets, today announced that Derek Best has joined Amalfi Semiconductor as Vice President of Worldwide Sales. He has over 30 years of international sales and marketing experience in the semiconductor industry and brings extensive experience within the high-volume mobile handset market; the primary target market for Amalfi's high-performance CMOS power amplifier technology.

From 1997 to 2010, Best was a Senior Vice President of Silicon Storage Technology, Inc (SST), responsible for building and running their sales and marketing organization worldwide. SST was a world leader in the design and high volume manufacturing of NOR flash, NAND flash controllers, solid state drives, microcontrollers and wireless power amplifier technology.  During his tenure at SST, he gained substantial sales and marketing knowledge of the Asian markets adding to his extensive experience of the North American and European markets.  Prior to joining SST, Best held various executive positions at Micromodule Systems, Hitachi and Texas Instruments as well as being the co-founder of Mosaic Semiconductor.
