NEW YORK, Feb. 27, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The Association of Management Consulting Firms (AMCF), www.amcf.org, is pleased to announce the winner of the 2015 Award of Excellence: The Carl S. Sloane Award. Now in its fifteenth year, this honor is awarded by the AMCF Board of Directors to an individual who has contributed substantially to the development of the consulting profession, either through leadership, the development of intellectual capital, innovation in consulting processes, value added to clients served, or a combination of the above.
The 2015 Award of Excellence will be presented to Vijay Govindarajan, best selling author, Marvin Bower Fellow at Harvard Business School and Coxe Distinguished Professor at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.
Dr. Govindarajan is widely regarded as one of the leading experts on strategy and innovation. He was ranked the #1 Indian Management Thinker and #3 Management Thinker in the world by Thinkers50. Dr. Govindarajan was also the first Professor in Residence and Chief Innovation Consultant at General Electric. He worked with GE's CEO Jeff Immelt to write "How GE is Disrupting Itself", the Harvard Business Review (HBR) article that pioneered the concept of reverse innovation – any innovation that is adopted first in the developing world.
AMCF is proud to have Vijay Govindarajan join the ranks of former winners of the Award of Excellence: The Carl S. Sloane Award, including Clayton Christensen, W. Chan Kim & Renee Mauborgne, Gary Hamel, Ginny Rometty and David Maister.
Vijay Govindarajan will receive the award and deliver the keynote address at the AMCF's Global Leadership Forum on May 14, 2015 at Chelsea Piers in New York City. This event is open to the public: tickets can be purchased by visiting www.amcf.org.
