NEWTON, Mass., June 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Attivio, Inc. today announced that AMD has chosen the Attivio Active Intelligence Engine™ (AIE) to address a variety of information management initiatives. The initial deployment of AIE is expected to enhance the search capabilities of AMD's public website and help manage global web promotions, including the ability to prioritize query results based on specific campaigns.
Attivio's Active Intelligence Engine makes corporate information assets fully searchable by combining disparate data sources into a single index, as well as providing linguistic processing such as entity extraction and sentiment analysis. Attivio AIE retains explicit data relationships as well as identifying implicit ones, ensuring that the aggregated information is intelligent and relational – which in turn helps ensure that users quickly get the answers they need.
"We needed a new approach to information access that extended beyond traditional search capabilities," said Gregg Hansen, vice president, Applications, AMD. "The relational nature of Attivio's Active Intelligence Engine gives us the ability to formulate queries that understand associations between various content objects to help render results with better relevancy, and also provides the tailored functionality we needed. AIE pulls content from multiple information repositories including our knowledge base, databases and product catalogs to provide more complete information in response to our users' requests, and helps us better target promotional campaigns."
With Attivio AIE, AMD will be able to:
- Leverage the same index structure to store product information, technical data, community articles and blogs and use the relational nature of AIE to cross-reference documents to return the most relevant mix of information
- Manage promotional and advertising campaigns in 10 languages across AMD's web properties
- Maintain precise control of search results as well as dictionary management
- Leverage existing SharePoint and Active Directory security to manage the approval process for publishing changes to production
"AMD is committed to innovation that's truly useful for customers, and believes that customers should come first at every stage of the company's activities," said Ali Riaz, CEO of Attivio. "We are very excited to be working with such a visionary organization to help them deliver the best possible experience for visitors to their global websites and to increase the overall return on their corporate information assets."
On-demand insight is critical to the success of any business, but the information that decisions and processes depend on is created and stored in many formats – databases, spreadsheets, documents, emails, blogs, and more. Attivio solves this long-standing problem of information isolation by integrating search, business intelligence and process automation capabilities to provide answers and intelligence – not just data. With Attivio’s Active Intelligence Engine™ (AIE), users retrieve and analyze all types of content and data with simple, search-style queries and via reports and executive dashboards.
AIE’s dynamic approach to unified information access features rapid development, true incremental scalability and a small footprint that can be easily embedded in other products and applications. Business and IT leaders, system integrators and independent software vendors partner with Attivio to address today’s global business imperatives – uncovering insights that drive innovation and reveal new opportunities, mitigating risk and containing cost.
