American Book Drive Announces The 2nd Annual October, 2011 Book Drive for Los Angeles County Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure®
LOS ANGELES, Sept. 19, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- American Book Drive will collect used books, CDs and DVDs in a month-long fundraiser for The Los Angeles County Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure®. From October 1 to October 31, books and digital media will be collected from over 200 locations across Los Angeles County. Proceeds from resale of donated items will benefit local affiliate of breast cancer advocacy organization.
American Book Drive has joined forces with Westfield Shopping Centers, MPG Office Trust, Douglass Emmett Properties, Brookfield Properties, Equity Offices and selected Whole Foods Markets locations to place a collection bin throughout October. During that time, the American Book Drive Bookmobile will make scheduled appearances at malls to accept donations. Donors can also contact American Book Drive for onsite pickup of books and digital media.

American Book Drive collected over 75,000 books last October, 2010. This year with help from new and existing supporters plan to double that number. We are setting a goal of collecting over 150,000 books, CDs and DVDs by October 31. The donated items will be resold on online marketplaces and stores. Proceeds will go to The Los Angeles County Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure®.
