NEW YORK, Dec. 14, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- American Media, Inc. (AMI) has released a new mobile smartphone app for its flagship tabloid, The National ENQUIRER, to provide users up-to-minute breaking news and exclusive content.
The launch follows dramatic growth in mobile traffic that saw nationalenquirer.com surge to a record 108% year-on-year increase, according to The Association Of Magazine Media's monthly "Magazine Media 360 Degree" report.
"The National ENQUIRER consistently showcases why it is a must-read for the celebrity-obsessed," said Dylan Howard, The National ENQUIRER Editor-In-Chief and Chief Content Officer of AMI. "It's clear this type of reporting not only engages our loyal print audience, but those who consume such content across multiple digital platforms too."
The surge in traffic was also fueled by social media. The National ENQUIRER saw social traffic increase 64% year-on-year with Facebook traffic up almost 300%.
The app is available for both iOS and Android in the iTunes and Google Play stores.
