American Media, Inc. Appoints Andrew Russell to the Board of Directors
NEW YORK, Aug. 27, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- David J. Pecker, Chairman, President and CEO of American Media, Inc. (AMI), today announced the appointment of Andrew Russell to the Board of Directors.
Russell has significant Board and digital experience. Due to his previous Board involvement at digital companies, Russell is a natural fit for AMI's Board of Directors as they seek to strengthen their digital investment plan.
In July 2011, Russell founded Trigger Media Group, a digital media venture capital firm, where he serves as CEO. Since 2005, Russell has been and continues to be a partner of Pilot Group LLC, a principal investment firm specializing in early and late stage venture capital transactions in privately owned companies, a number of which are digital media companies. From 1999 to 2003, he was a partner of East River Ventures LP, a venture capital firm specializing in investments in early stage companies within the information technology, business services and healthcare sectors.
"Andy Russell's background makes him an outstanding addition to our Board of Directors," said David J. Pecker, AMI's Chairman, President and CEO. "The significant investment we're making in our digital operations and the depth and breadth of our content gives AMI a strong platform that Andy will help us define for the future."
"I am honored to become a member of the Board of Directors of AMI," said Andrew Russell. "I look forward to joining the highly accomplished team of Board members where I will bring a wealth of digital experience and knowledge to AMI."
