American Standard Energy Corporation Announces Robert J. Thompson as Board Chairman

TEMPE, Ariz., Dec. 30, 2010 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The Board of Directors of American Standard Energy Corp. (OTC Bulletin Board: ASEN) is pleased to announce the appointment of Robert Thompson to the Board and his election to serve as its Chairman. Mr. Thompson shall also chair the Compensation, Audit, and Nominating & Corporate Governance Committees.

Mr. Thompson brings to American Standard Energy Corp. a wealth of experience in counseling emerging as well as large multi-national oil & gas exploration and development companies on corporate growth, development and acquisition strategies. As Chairman Mr. Thompson will provide overall governance leadership to the company and will focus the Board on supporting senior management in setting and achieving the company's aggressive growth strategies in the energy industry. Mr. Thompson was Chairman of the Board of C.M. Oliver Inc., a Canadian publicly traded (TSX) investment dealer/broker involved since 1907 in investment banking activities throughout North America and in Europe, particularly in the oil & gas and mineral resource sectors. C.M. Oliver merged its investment banking and broker dealer activities with Canaccord Adams in 2001. Previously, Mr. Thompson was a Senior Partner of KPMG Consulting and predecessor firms of Ernst & Young. His professional involvements concentrated on corporate finance and merger and acquisition advisory services.

Mr. Thompson also serves as Chairman of the Board of Algae Biosciences Corporation and as Chairman of the Board of QuoteMedia, Inc. He is also Managing Director of CanAm Capital Partners, LLC, a Corporate Finance Advisory firm, and President of Corpus Investments Inc., a private equity firm.
