America's Best Punny Response to Scott Walker's Campaign Logo Lift: #logogate
DULUTH, Ga., July 13, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- It was a bit of a surprise to America's Best Contacts & Eyeglasses, a growing low-cost optical chain, when presidential candidate Scott Walker unveiled his new campaign logo that had an element startlingly close to the America's Best logo with an "E" stylized into a flag.
"We're surprised our logo has been a controversial issue in national politics, but there is nothing controversial about our great prices," said CEO Reade Fahs. "We do hope whoever our new president is, that person will have excellent vision."
The company does not affiliate with a political party. Comments about the similarity of logos were brought up to the company through outsiders.
"We started to get a lot of interesting feedback on the America's Best social media channels, and it felt rude not to respond," said Fahs.
Beginning today, the company started tweeting to let the public know they had been heard. There's even a new trending hashtag for the conversation: #logogate.
