WASHINGTON, March 20, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Mark H. Ayers, President of the Building and Construction Trades Department, released the following statement upon the selection of new officers to lead the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC):
"On behalf of the 13 national and international unions that comprise the Building and Construction Trades Department, I offer sincere congratulations and good wishes to Joseph Jarboe, Paul Diederich, Alan Landes, and David Hanson on the occasion of their being selected to serve as the executive officers of the Associated General Contractors of America.
The U.S. construction industry continues to struggle under the weight of a severe economic depression, and unions and contractors alike are striving to adapt and make the necessary changes to bring about a sustained recovery that benefits owners, contractors and workers alike.
We look forward to working with the new leadership of the AGC to both plan and build towards that future.
