AmeriLithium Announces Positive Gravity Survey Results & Expansion of Clayton Deep Lithium Project

HENDERSON, NV, Sept. 28, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- AmeriLithium Corp. (OTC Bulletin Board: AMEL; "AmeriLithium" or "the Company") is pleased to report positive results from a gravity survey completed on the Company's Clayton Deep lithium brine project in Clayton Valley, Nevada, and the strategic expansion of that project by 1,360 acres.

In August 2011, Magee Geophysical completed a gravity survey on AmeriLithium's Clayton Deep property. Jim Wright of J.L. Wright Geophysics analyzed and interpreted the survey's data, which clearly recommend further exploration of the property. In particular, the results indicated the presence of a well-formed basin, evidently filled with Quaternary sediments while being highly prospective for lithium-bearing groundwater. Basin sediments are expected to be similar in nature to those from which Clayton Valley lithium production has historically been confined. The presence of drainage patterns showing evidence of fluid migration from Clayton Valley proper (to the north and east) and Silver Peak Range rocks (to the west) suggests hydraulic connection with several potential sources of lithium-rich groundwater. The gravity survey also identified that the northwest area of the targeted Southwest Gravity Low extended outside of the Company's original Clayton Deep claim. In turn, AmeriLithium expanded its Clayton Deep project holdings on September 23, 2011, by executing a definitive agreement, thereby acquiring a 100% interest in 17 mining claims totaling 1,360 acres. By acquiring the 17 claims, AmeriLithium's Clayton Deep project now covers the entire Southwest Gravity Low, and represents a total of 6,640 acres (10.38 square miles), all of which were covered by the Magee gravity survey. The rights to the additional 17 claims were obtained by way of an additional agreement with Nevada Alaska Mining Co., Inc., whom the original Clayton Deep claims were purchased from.

AmeriLithium's Southwest Low is a viable size lithium brine exploration target, covering approximately 2,200 acres or 3.4 square miles. Less than 10 miles to the northeast, Chemetall Foote Corporation's lithium brine recovery wells have been producing continuously for 43 years. The Chemetall plant is the only US-based lithium producing plant, producing an estimated 50 million kg (55,000+ tons) of lithium to date from the region's rich brines[1].

ADDITIONAL SURVEY RESULT DETAILS

Historically, a large scale US Geological Survey (USGS) gravity survey in 1975 found two gravity lows (-210 milligals) in the south end of Clayton Valley. Today, the South Central Low is controlled by Rodinia Minerals while the Southwest Low is controlled by AmeriLithium through the Clayton Deep project (to the immediate west of Rodinia Minerals).

Reporting on the August 2011 gravity survey on AmeriLithium's Clayton Deep property, Jim Wright of J.L. Wright Geophysics, wrote that "the gravity survey agrees well with regional USGS data and reveals a basin with two distinct portions." The well-formed basin is evidently filled with Quaternary sediments, making for a highly prospective exploration target for lithium-bearing groundwater.

The data shows an extraordinary structural depression underlying the Clayton Deep claim block. The resolution of the data is of such high quality that geologic structures bordering the basin and paleo-stream channels are clearly evident in the data analysis. The basin measures approximately 3.1 miles (5,000 meters) in the northeast-southwest direction, and 3.7 miles (6,000 meters) in the northwest-southeast direction, encompassing surface area of about 7,400 acres (2,960 hectares). Basin depth exceeds 4,265 feet (1,300 meters) in two locations within the basin.

The survey results indicate the major fault structure on the southwest edge of the basin appears to have a significant vertical displacement on the order of 1,100 to 1,200 feet (334 to 365 meters). Paleo-channels are also evident entering the basin from the north, east, and west of the basin. These incised channels indicate drainage of fluids and transport of sediments into the basin from Clayton Valley to the north and east and from the Silver Peak Range on the west.
