SCIOTA, Pa., March 1, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- AmeriWorks Financial Services, Inc. (Pink Sheets: AWKS) announced the launch of a multi-website and mobile device cashier training and certification program.  This is a new service introduced by the Company and complements the Company's debt collection services already provided to supermarkets and retail stores.  The certification program is called POS University and like any university that consists of multiple schools, the Company's consists of an online testing and certification site; a secondary course material website; a mobile website for students who want the freedom to learn the course material using a smartphone or iPad; a downloadable eBook version of the course; and an Amazon Kindle version of the course.  Facebook, Twitter and two additional website properties are also provided as additional education and job resources for those seeking employment as a cashier.

The certification website http://www.pos-university.com is designed for individuals of all ages who are trying to find attractive ways to enhance their resumes in the current competitive job hunting climate.  It is also expected that retail store owners and supermarkets will use it to prescreen employees before they are hired, or as a means to qualify current employees for promotions.  Individual cashier job seekers can register as a student for $39.95, whereas employers can purchase discounted bulk student licenses and distribute them as needed.

The certification process consists of 10 lessons, 10 quizzes and a final exam.  The student must pass the quizzes and final exam with a weighted average score of 80% or better.  Each student receives a printable certificate if and when they pass the testing.  Some of the basic course topics include customer service; customer retention techniques; handling of cash and credit cards; and how to handle crisis situations.  Lessons on counterfeit money and check fraud are also included in the study material to help prevent those problems at the point of sale, making this certification even more valuable than simple customer service or equipment training.
