Amherst Securities Group Expands Mortgage Sales Division With Three New Hires

AUSTIN, Texas, Jan. 10, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Amherst Securities Group, L.P., a leading financial services provider to institutional investors in the mortgage sector, announced today that it has hired three mortgage industry veterans to build on the recent momentum in its sales division.  The executives – Peter Davidson, Chris Heaney and Chris O'Neill – will help to expand Amherst's client base and build on the industry leading services it provides to existing clients.

Among the new hires, Peter Davidson has been appointed a Managing Director in Amherst's New York office covering insurance companies, money managers and hedge funds.  Mr. Davidson comes to Amherst from RBS where he was a Managing Director working in mortgage-backed sales since April 2009.  Prior to joining RBS, he was a Director in mortgage-backed sales at Merrill Lynch where he spent more than eight years.  He holds a bachelor's degree from Colgate University.

Chris Heaney has been named a Managing Director in Amherst's mortgage sales division based in the Westport, CT office.  Mr. Heaney was previously a Managing Director at Jeffries, specializing in Structured Product Sales including MBS, ABS, CMBS, and CDO's since 2008.  Prior to working at Jefferies, Mr. Heaney was a Senior Managing Director at Bear, Stearns & Co. Inc., where he had a 22 year career in the Fixed Income Department.

Chris O'Neill will serve as a Senior Vice President in Amherst's mortgage sales division based in the New York office.  Mr. O'Neill joins Amherst from Jefferies where he was a Senior Vice President in its MBS and Structured Product Sales Group. Prior to his time at Jefferies, Mr. O'Neill spent eleven years at Bear Stearns in both their Fixed Income Sales Division and Fixed Income Technology Group.  He received his B.A. from Fordham University.
