"We're excited about our partnership with AMN," said Mamoon Syed, Vice President, Human Resources, for Rady Children's. "Not only do we look forward to cost savings and streamlined processes leading to greater efficiencies as a result of our working together, but having a San Diego-based company as a partner is a bonus for us. We – and our patients – will benefit from the expansive resources of AMN's clinical and administrative support and, in fact, are already experiencing positive results."
Susan Salka, AMN's President and CEO, said, "We're honored and elated to be a committed partner in helping Rady Children's deliver quality patient care to the children and families of our community. Our agreement brings together two well-established and successful San Diego institutions committed to quality and compassionate patient care, innovation and the delivery of cost-effective healthcare solutions."
Under terms of the Rady Children's agreement, AMN will provide travel and local clinical staff including nurses, allied and pharmacy healthcare professionals. In addition, AMN will also provide travel and local non-clinical staff such as receptionists, executive and administrative assistants, security guards and information technology professionals. The agreement also calls for AMN to provide non-employee vendor and independent contractor support. AMN will be the exclusive supplier of contingent staffing, and will manage several subcontractor agencies to ensure positions are filled.
The agreement with Rady Children's is one of the latest of 28 MSP contracts AMN has been awarded since July of last year when the company announced plans to acquire Arlington, Texas-based Medfinders, creating the largest healthcare staffing managed services provider in the U.S. The MSP agreements executed since the acquisition was announced have a cumulative gross spend under management by AMN of over $75 million. The AMN MSP program is proving to be successful in many healthcare settings including acute care, rehabilitation, and long-term acute care facilities.
