Providence Health & Services operates five medical centers in Southern California, which represents the largest service territory for the Providence system. The contract was signed in August and implementation efforts have been underway since then for an official launch during the month of November.
"Providence has a long history of providing high quality, compassionate care, making our selection of a strategic staffing partner a very important decision," said Pam Stahl, R.N., M.S., Providence Regional Director, HR Operations and Occupational Safety, Health and Wellness. "We selected AMN because of its extensive experience with Managed Services Programs."
"AMN's commitment to quality patient care and a values-based culture mirrors our own, making the company qualified to fill our staffing needs across all of our specialties, including acute-care, continued-care, home care and hospice," Stahl said.
"Providence's California operations represent a large system, creating significant opportunities for leveraging buying power and best practices," according to Bob Livonius, President of AMN's Strategic Workforce Solutions. "We are excited and honored to partner with the Providence leadership team. Our goal is to take supplemental staffing in California to new levels of continuous efficiency, effectiveness and quality," Livonius said.
As part of the agreement, AMN Healthcare will support Providence in its mission to deliver high continuity of quality care by providing appropriately skilled and credentialed local and travel nursing professionals. By incorporating its Single Source proprietary technology, the company will help Providence realize significant cost savings, standardize and streamline supplemental staffing processes, and capture compliance best practices.
To accomplish these goals, AMN employs the support of a clinical oversight team, proprietary automation and reporting technology, and experienced local and national healthcare recruiters. AMN will be the primary supplier of supplemental clinical staffing under the agreement, but also manages several subcontractor agencies, to ensure that positions are reliably filled with consistent levels of quality.
