(NYSE: AHS), the nation's largest healthcare staffing and workforce solutions company, today announced that it has named Martha H. Marsh, Martin E. Chavez and Wyche E. Walton to its Board of Directors, bringing the number of members of its Board to nine. The new members joined in September.

Ms. Marsh has extensive expertise in the healthcare industry, having most recently served as President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Stanford Hospital and Clinics for eight years, from April 2002 until her retirement in August 2010. Previously, Ms. Marsh served as the CEO of UC Davis Medical Center and the Chief Operating Officer of the UC Davis Health System from 1999 to 2002. Prior to that time, she served as the Senior Vice President for Professional Services and Managed Care at the University of Pennsylvania Health System, and before that as President and CEO of Matthew Thornton Health Plan in Nashua, NH.
Mr. Chavez has considerable experience in the area of merchant banking, mergers and acquisitions. Since 2006, Mr. Chavez has been a Managing Director of Goldman, Sachs & Co., in the firm's Merchant Banking Division. Mr. Chavez serves on the Board of Directors of several private companies, including Medical Care Consortium LLC, and Omni Home Health. Mr. Chavez previously served as the Chairman of the Board and a Board member of NF Investors, Inc., the parent company of Nursefinders, Inc. (dba Medfinders), from 2007 until its acquisition by AMN Healthcare in 2010.
Mr. Walton has over 15 years of experience investing in the private and public sectors. He joined Haas Wheat & Partners in 1995 and serves as a Managing Director and Partner in the firm. Prior to working with Haas Wheat, he was with KPMG. Mr. Walton previously served on the Board of Directors of both public and private companies, including most recently NF Investors, Inc. (dba Medfinders), from 2007 until its acquisition by AMN Healthcare in 2010.
