SAN DIEGO, Aug. 23, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- AMN Healthcare Services, Inc. (NYSE: AHS), healthcare's largest staffing provider and workforce innovator, announced the promotion of Beth Machado to President of Travel Nursing. In this role, she will be responsible for the strategy and performance of AMN's travel nursing recruitment and account management teams. Additionally, Ms. Machado will oversee the international and electronic medical records (EMR) businesses, as well as Rapid Response, AMN's NurseChoice brand that supplies short-term travel nurses to fill critical staffing needs of healthcare facilities.
"This newly-created role truly underscores the strategic importance of our travel nursing business. By having a single executive leader oversee both the recruiting aspect and account management of our travel nursing business, we can provide a more integrated and holistic approach to each of our clients. In doing so, we'll achieve greater efficiencies and economies of scale," explained Susan Salka, AMN's President and CEO. "Having started as a nurse recruiter and leading several successful teams during her over 20-year tenure at AMN, Beth has been instrumental in growing our traveling nursing division into AMN's largest and most profitable business."
