Andrean Horton, A. Schulman's Senior Corporate Counsel For The Americas, To Be Honored By Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association
AKRON, Ohio, Nov. 20, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- A. Schulman, Inc. (Nasdaq-GS: SHLM) announced today that Andrean Horton, Senior Corporate Counsel for the Americas, will be honored for her contributions to the community at a reception to be hosted by the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association's Women in Law Section and the Northeast Ohio Association of Corporate Counsel.
Horton is one of 20 women in corporate counsel who will be recognized at the reception in honor of their community contributions in Northeast Ohio. The event will be held November 21, 2013, at The Club at Key Tower in Cleveland, Ohio.

Among her many community activities, Horton is a member of the Board of Directors of the Domestic Violence and Child Advocacy Center, which empowers individuals, educates the community and advocates for justice to end domestic violence and child abuse. She is also President-Elect of DANCECleveland, which brings world-renowned dance companies to Northeast Ohio for performances, master classes, educational residencies and lectures. She previously served on the boards of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Cleveland, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Detroit and the Association of Corporate Counsel Michigan Chapter.
In her role at A. Schulman, Horton is responsible for overseeing the legal affairs of the Company's Americas region. She provides counsel on a wide range of legal issues, including intellectual property, real estate, contracts, labor and employment, compliance and litigation. Prior to joining A. Schulman, she was General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for The Bartech Group, Inc., one of America's largest minority-owned talent acquisition and management firms. She also served in a variety of capacities for YRC Worldwide Inc., one of the largest transportation service providers in the world, including Vice President of Legal and Regulatory, Vice President and Assistant General Counsel for Roadway Express, and Corporate Counsel.
Horton was named to the Diversity MBA Magazine list of Top 100 Under 50 Emerging Leaders for 2009 and the Kaleidoscope Magazine 40/40 Club Class of 2006. She received a juris doctor degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Law and a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Michigan. She is a member of the Association of Corporate Counsel, the State Bar of Ohio and the State Bar of Michigan.
